How to do a stag do without a package operator
A package operator books the weekend for you and takes a deposit and a margin for it. You can do the same job yourselves, keep the per-head cost visible, and pay each supplier direct.
Here is what the operator actually does, and how a group covers it without one.
What you are paying the operator for
Mostly coordination. They collect everyone's money, hold supplier deals, and chase the group. The margin sits in the per-head price, and it is rarely broken down.
Doing it direct
Agree the dates and budget as a group, pick the venues by vote, and book each one direct with the supplier. You keep the deals you find, and there is no per-head markup on top.
Keeping the money straight
The hard part without an operator is tracking who has paid for what. Keep every cost and every payment in one shared place, so the group can see where things stand without one person chasing.
Coordination without the markup
